Probably the easiest was to think of this is to get rid of any fractions. By multiplying the two distances by 3
13d∗3=d
23d∗3=2d
Now work out the amount of time it takes to cover each distance.
at 3km/h it takes d3 units
at 2km/h it take 2d2 or d units
so to cover 3d km it will take 43d hours
Finally we divide the two terms, d cancels out altogether and we’re left with
3∗34
which is 2.25km/h
