A heater coil connected to a 220V has a resistance of 150 ohm.
How long will it take for this coil to heat 1kg of water from 20°c to 60°c , assuming that all heat is taken up by water .

Power (heat) dissipated by the heater = P = V^2/R =
= 220^2/150 = 4840/15 W

Heat needed = H = m s T
= 1000* 4.2 * (60-20) J
= 168 kJ

Time duration = t = H/P
= 168000*15/4840 sec
= 520 sec = 4 min 40 sec
