A horizontal pipeline is to be designed to handle a water flow rate

of 786 litres per second. At the inlet, the pipe diameter is 50 cm.

The average velocity at the outlet is 6 m/s. The pipe turns the flow

through an angle of 120° w.r.t. the initial direction at inlet. The

gauge pressure at inlet is 1.5 bar. Find the anchoring force needed to

keep the pipe in static condition.
