a) human release corbon dioxide b) when we pour water in root it takes up that water from root and when it rains nitrates come in soil so in this way it takes minerals as well as water from root

(a) How do plants get carbon-dioxide for making food by photosynthesis?

Answer:

◼For photosynthesis, green plants take carbon dioxide from the air.

◼The carbon dioxide enters the leaves of the plant through the stomata present on their surface.

◼Each stomatal pore is surrounded by a pair of guard cells which open to let in the carbon-dioxide.

(b)Explain how water and minerals are transported to the leaves of a plant to be used in food making by photosynthesis?

Answer:

◼The vascular tissue for the transport of food to the various parts of the plant is known as phloem.

◼A lot of water is lost by plants in the form of vapour through stomata during transpiration.

◼Transpiration generates a force which pulls up water absorbed by the roots from the soil, to reach the stem and leaves.

◼This way, water and minerals are transported to the leaves of a plant to be used in food making by photosynthesis.
