Explanation:

a) When sodium hydrogen carbonate reacts chemically with Ethanoic acid to produce sodium acetate with the evolution of carbon dioxide and water

Na HCO_{3}  (aq) +CH_{3} COOH (aq) -> NaC_{2} H_{3} 0_{2}  (aq) + H_{2} 0 (l) + CO_{2}  (aq)

b) When carbon is exposed in air it forms carbon dioxide along with the evolution of excess amount of heat and energy due to that feature, carbon and its compounds finds its application in fuels.

c) Detergent cleans clothes more effectively in hard water because of the following reason

Hard water contains calcium ions and magnesium ions that limit soap's cleaning capabilities whereas  detergents comprises of chemicals that are not affected by hard water.
