a lift descends 4 floors and then stops.if then descends 2 floors more and stops,Finally it descends 1 floor .If the lift does this twice a day,what is the total number of floors it descends in a day?

Answer:

2*(4+2+1) = 2*7 = 14

It descends 14 floors in a day
