Total distance=40 km

Time taken for,
1st 10km=10km/10km/h
=1h
2nd 10km=10km/20km/h
=1/2 h
3rd 10km=10km/30km/h
=1/3 h
4th 10 km=10km/40km/h
=1/4h

Total time =(1+1/2+1/3+1/4)h
=(12+6+4+3 /12)h
=25/12h

Average speed =Total distance /Total time
=(40÷25/12)km/h
=(40×12/25) km/h
=19.2 km/h
