A man goes 35 m due west and then 12 m due north . How far is he form the starting point

it's a direct question of pythagoras theorem
let x mts be the distance b\w the man's initial and final positions
then
x = \sqrt{ {35}^{2} + {12}^{2} }
x = \sqrt{1225 + 144}
x = \sqrt{1369}
x = 37 mts

n this question make a right angle triangle. ABC where AB base AC is perpendicular and CB is hypotenuse

given Ab= 12 AC=35 FIND BC

THEN USE PYTHAGOREAN THUEROM

BC=√(AB)²+(AC)²

BC=√(12)²+(35)²

BC=√144+1225

BC=√1369

BC=37. ANSWER
