A man hired an auto for 5 km. the fare was rs. 10 for the first km and rs. 3 for every subsequent km. he paid rs. 50, for which the auto driver said that it is not the correct amount. i) calculate the correct amount. ii) which value is being promoted by the auto driver?

Ans 1) Distance Travelled= 5km
           Cost for 1km= 10 rs.
           Cost for rest 4 km = 3*4= 12rs.
           Total Cost=10+12= 22 rs.

Ans2) Auto Driver is a honest man.

The fare was Rs.10 for the first and Rs.3 per for the subsequent km.

Total fare will be = 10+3+3+3+3 = Rs.22.

The man paid Rs.50 that means he paid

50-22= Rs 28 extra than the correct fare.

The correct amount = Rs.28

ii) The value that is being promoted by the auto driver is

" Honesty is the best policy".
