Let, current age of the father be x and that of soon be y.

According to question, x=3y > (i)

After 10 years,

(x+10)=2(y+10)

x+10 = 2y+20

3y+10 = 2y+20

y = 10

Substituting y=10 in (i) we get, x=30

The son will be 20 years old after 10 years since currently he 10 years.

Hence, after 10 years the father will be off 40 years; i.e., when the is 20 years old his father will be 40 years old.

viz, option a.
