Answer:

Son’s present age = x

Ajay’s age = 4 times (Son’s age)

y = 4x ———-> Equation (1)

After 16 years

Ajay’s age = y + 16

Son’s age = x + 16

Ajay’s age = 2 times (Son’s age)

y + 16 = 2 * (x + 16)

y + 16 = 2x + 32

y = 2x + 32 - 16

y = 2x + 16

According to equation (1) y = 4x, so

4x = 2x + 16

4x - 2x = 16

2x = 16

x = 8

Son’s present age = x = 8
