A man is engaged as a typist for 30 days on the condition that he receives
₹175 for each day he works and has to pay 50 for each day he remains
absent. If he receives ₹4125 in all, for how many days does he remain absent?​

1) x+y=30 - number of days

2) 175x-50y=4125 - monthly income

From 1)  we get y=30-x

175x-50(30-x)=4125

225x-1500=4125

225x=5625

x=5625/225

x=25 days

y=30-25=5 days

So the typist was absent for 5 days
