.howdy!!

your answer is ----

DISTANCE = 6 + 8 = 14 METER

AND ,

DISPLACEMENT =
 \sqrt{ {6}^{2} +  {8}^{2}  }  \\  =  \sqrt{36 + 64}  \\  =  \sqrt{100}  = 10meter

hope it help you

"The distance travelled by the man is 14m and displacement is 10m.

Given, a man moved 6m south and turned towards and moved 8m east.

To find the "total distance" covered by man we have to add the distance covered by the man towards south and east.

So, total distance = 6+8 = 14m

Displacement is the action of moving something from some place to another.

To find displacement we have to square the distance of the man covered towards south and east,

Displacement = sum of square root of the distance = \sqrt{6^{2}+8^{2}}=\sqrt{36+64}

=\sqrt{100}

=10m"
