Answer :

Lets suppose that number of tables purchased = n

Since total number of furnitures purchased is 13,

So number of chairs purchased = 13 - n

Cost of 1 table = 70 Rupees
=> Cost of n tables = (70 × n) Rupees

Cost of 1 chair = 45 Rupees
=> Cost of (13 - n) chairs = 45 × (13 - n) Rupees

So total cost = (70 × n) + (45 × (13-n))

According to the question,

760 = 70n + 585 - 45n

=> 760 = 25n + 585

=> 25n = 760 - 585

=> 25n = 175

=> n = 7

●So total number of tables purchased = n = 7

●So total number of chairs purchased = 13-n = 6.
