It'd be better if you had explained the question more clearly.

This is how I understood the problem: A man saved Rs. 16500 in 10 years. Starting from first year, he saved Rs.100 more each year. You want to know the saving of the first year.

If that is the case, then by Arithmetic Progression

Tn = a + (n-1)d (where a is the savings of the first year, n the no. of years and d the difference between two consecutive terms which will be 100)

16500 = a + (10-1)100
16500 = a + 900
a = 15600 Rs

Hope it helped

If this is not the answer, then I'm sorry though

aastha1810: you are doing one thing wrong you can't have to put TNand equal to 6500 you have to put s 10 equal to 6500

hare n=10 d=100 sn=16500
sn = \frac{n}{2} (2a + (n - 1)d) \\ 16500= 5(2a + 900) \\ 3300 = 2a + 900 \\ 2a = 2400 \\ a = 1200 \\ so \: \: he \: saved \: in \: first \: yer \: 1200

aastha1810: your answer is right thank you
