Answer:

4% loss

Step-by-step explanation:

SP of first painting = Rs.924

Gain = 20%

=> (100+20)% of CP = SP

=> 120% of CP = 924

=> 120/100 × CP = 924

=> CP = 924 × 5/6

=> CP = Rs.770

SP of second painting = Rs.924

Loss = 20%

=> (100-20)% of CP = SP

=> 80% of CP = 924

=> 80/100 × CP = 924

=> CP = 924 × 5/4

=> CP = Rs.1155

Total CP = Rs.(770+1155) = Rs.1925

Total SP = Rs.(924+924) = Rs.1848

CP > SP.

Loss = CP - SP = Rs.(1925-1848) = Rs.77

Loss percent = Loss/CP × 100 = 77/1925 × 100 = 4%
