first change 1 min into sec
ie 60 sec
therefor
we have distance in 1 min with speed of 1m / s will be speed multiply by time
60 \times 1 \: = 60
in next min distane is 180 m
total distance will be 60 + 180 ie 240 m.
hope is understood.

A man walk for 1 min with a speed of 1m/s it means = 60 sec * 1m = 60m
And for next min = 60 sec * 3m = 180m
Total distance covered = 60m + 180m = 240m
