A man wants to cut 3 lengths from a single tree of length 50 feet . The longest is thrice the smallest and third is 3/4 times the longest. Find the three lengths

kookie97: so let the shortest side be "x" as per the given conditions, the longest side would become "3x" .... and third side is 3/4 of the longest side so" 3/4×3x = 9x/4" .......... their sum is 50 ....so....3x + 9x/4 + x = 50.....if you solve it you'll get x=8 ; 3x = 3×18 = 24 ; 9x/4 = 18
