A merchant has three different types of milk 435 l 493l and 531 find the least number of casks of equal size required to store all milk without mixing

Solution

A merchant has three different types of milk.

1st type- 435 litres

2nd type- 493 litres

3rd type- 531 litres

So what will be the least number of casks of equal size to store milk without mixing.

So first let us solve the HCF of 435, 493, 531.

The Hcf of 435, 493,531 is =29

Lets divide 29 with each number;

435/29= 15

493/29= 17

531/29= 18.3

So lets add up:

15+17+18.3= 50.3 (round up = 51)

Answer: 51 casks are required.
