Outer+inner radius
put the volume formula of cylinder
22/7×10×10×154
22×22×100
48400cm3

shubhra6: then, please solve it , with steps

Dear Student,

● Answer -

Metal used = 4840 cu.m

● Expaination -

# Given -

h = 154 cm

R = 5.5 cm

r = 4.5 cm

# Solution -

Inner volume of metal pipe is -

Inner volume = πr²h

Inner volume = 22/7 × 4.5² × 154

Inner volume = 9801 cu.cm

Outer volume of metal pipe is -

Outer volume = πR²h

Outer volume = 22/7 × 5.5² × 154

Outer volume = 14641 cu.cm

Volume of metal used for making pipe is -

Metal used = outer volume - inner volume

Metal used = 14641 - 9801

Metal used = 4840 cu.cm

Hence, metal used is 4840 cu.cm.

Hope this helps you...
