A metallic rod of length 10 cm is heated from 30 degree Celsius to 90 degree Celsius. If the final length of the rod is 10•01 cm, find the coefficient of linear expansion of the material of the rod.

we get,

m = x^2/2 + 2x

  = l^2/2 + 2l

put l = 3 meter.

m = 9/2 + 6 = 21/2 m that is approx. 10.5 m
