A mother is 20 years older than her daughter whose present age is 'x' years. 8 years hence the mother will be thrice as old as her daughter.

present age of
Mother=20+x
daughter =x
Given,Mother's age after 8 years will be equal to thrice the age of her daughter.
20+x+8=3x
28+x =3x
28=3x-x
2x=28
x=28/2
x=14
Mother's age is 34 and daughter's age is 14...
