Power = Force × Velocity
= 2000 N × 8 m/s
= 16000 Watt
= 16 kW

Answer:

The power of the engine = 16kw.

Given:

Speed of the motor boat, i.e. velocity = 8m/s,

Resistant force or reaction force or simply force = 2 KN ⟹ 2×〖10〗^3  N ⟹2000 N

To find the power of engine,

Solution:

We know that,

General formula for power is product of force and velocity.

Power = force × velocity

On substituting the values,

Power = 2000 N × 8 m/s

= 16000 watt

= 16 x 1000 watt [1kW = 1000 W]

= 16 kw.
