Given : A motor is supplied 600 KW, of which 30% is  lost. This motor is used to operate a crane  whose efficiency is 70%.  this crane lifts a

box of 20 tons,

To Find  : velocity of that box is

Solution:

motor is supplied 600 kW

Lost = (30/100)600 = 180 kW

Remaining = 600 - 180 = 420 k W

crane  efficiency is 70%

Hence net Power= (70/100)420 kW

= 294 kW

Power = Work Done / Time

Work Done = Force x displacement

d = displacement

Force  = mg

m = 20 tonn = 20 k kg

=> 294 k  = 20 k * g * d/T

=> d/t =  15

=> d/t  = velocity

velocity of that box  = 15 m/s
