let number be x
x - (4/5)x = 13

So by simplifying (taking common denominator) we get
(5x-4x)/5 = 13

So 5x-4x=65

x=65.

let the number be x
fourth-fifth of x = 4x/5
so x-4x/5=13
5x/5-4x/5=13
1x/5=13
so x = 13×5=65
so the no.=65
