A number is 6 more than two times another number the sum of the two numbers is 24 find the numbers


Tusharkush: let the no. be x then. A.T.Q NO.= 6+2x+x =24 then 3x =24-6=3x=18 ..x= 18/3=6

let the no. be × and y
× = 2y+ 6 ..........(1)
× + y = 24
2y + 6 + y = 24
( from eq..1 × = 2y+ 6)
3y= 24- 6
y = 18/3
y = 6


× = 24- 6
× = 18

Let the number be x
Then the other number be 2x+6
ATQ
X+2X+6=24
3X=24-6
X=18/3
X=6

First number =x=6
Other number=2x+6=2*6+6=18
