• Let one number be M.

• Other number = 10 + M

» A number is divided into two parts such that one part in 10 more than the other. And they are in the ratio 5:3.

A.T.Q.

=> \dfrac{M\:+\:10}{M} = \dfrac{5}{3}

Cross-multiply them

=> 3(M + 10) = 5M

=> 3M + 30 = 5M

=> 5M - 3M = 30

=> 2M = 30

=> M = 15

______________________________

One number is M = 15

Other number = M + 10 = 15 + 10 = 25

Number = 15 + 25 = 40
