25 - x = one - fourth of x

25 - x =$\frac{1}{4}$×x

25 - x = $\frac{x}{4}$

4(25 - x) = x 

100 - 4x = x 

100 = x + 4x 

100 = 5x 

100/5 =  x

20 = x

=> 4(25 - x) = x

=> 100 - 4x = x

=> -4x - x = -100

=> -5x = -100

=> x = -100/-5
