Answer:

203 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

area of rectangle paper= 14×20

= 280

diameter (longest chord) = 14

radius=14÷2 = 7

area of semi circle= pi r² ÷2

= 22 × 7 ×7 ÷ 7 ×2

=77

remaining area= 280-77

= 203 cm²

Answer:

Given,

length = 20 cm

breadth = 14 cm

Area of rectangle = length ×  breadth

                             =  20 × 14

                             = 280 cm²

From the picture we can consider that the radius of the semicircle is 7 cm.

Area of semicircle =  \frac{1}{2} × \pi r^2

                              = \frac{1}{2} × \frac{22}{7} × 7 × 7

                              =  77 cm²

∴ Remaining area = Area of rectangle - Area of semicircle

                              = 280 - 77

                              =  203 cm²

                   Hope it helps you^_^
