Solution:

Length of longer side of parallelogram = 18 cm

Distance between longer sides = 5 cm

Height corresponding to base 18 cm = 5 cm

Area of parallelogram = $Base \times Height = 18 \times 5 = 90 sq.cm.$

Length of shorter side = 15 cm

Let the distance between shorter sides be x

So, Area of parallelogram = $Base \times Height = 15x$

So, 90 = 15x

6=x

Hence the distance between its shorter sides is 6 cm
