Answer:-

y = 3x [Option.C]

Explanation:-

• Initial velocity of the particle will be zero

as it starts from rest.

• Since, the body is moving with uniform

acceleration, so let the acceleration of

the particle be 'a'.

Now we know that, distance covered by a body in the nth second is given by :-

S = u + a/2(2n - 1)

Where :-

S is the distance covered in the

nth second.

u is initial velocity of the particle.

a is acceleration of the particle.

n is the particular second.

For the 1st second :-

=> x = 0 + a/2(2×1 - 1)

=> x = a/2 × 1

=> x = a/2

=> x = 0.5a ----(1)

For the next (2nd) second :-

=> y = 0 + a/2(2×2 - 1)

=> y = a/2 × 3

=> y = 3a/2

=> y = 1.5a ----(2)

On dividing eq.2 by eq.1, we get :-

=> y/x = 1.5a/0.5a

=> y/x = 3

=> y = 3x
