Answer:

a) The total area of the garden = 30×30 = 900m²

  The area of the inner square = 28×28 = 784m²

  The area covered by the path = 900-784 = 116m²

b)The remaining portion of the Garden = 784m²

  Cost of planting grass = 784×50 = ₹3920

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

a path 1 metre wide is built along the border and inside a square garden of side 30 cm

To find:-

a)the area of the Path

a)the area of the Pathb) thethe cost of planting grass in the remaining portion of the garden at the rate of Rs 50 per sq.m

Solution:-

Side of the square garden=30cm

Width of the path=1m

so here width is greater than the path

so side of the square =30m

Area of the square=side×side=30×30=900m²

the width of the path =1m

It is built inside of the square

so side of the inner square=

Original side-2×width of the path

=>30-2×1

=>30-2

=>28m

Area of the inner square =28×28=784m²

area of the path=

Area of the outer square-Area of the inner square

=>900-784

=>116m²

Rate of the cost of planting per 1m²=50

Cost of planting for 116m²=116×50

=>5800

Cost of planting in the remaining portion=784×50=39200

Answer:-

Area of the path=116

Cost of planting the grass in the path=Rs.5800

Cost of planting in the remaining portion= Rs.39200
