A path of uniform width 1.5 runs around the inside of a rectangular plot of 80 M long and 60 M wide. Calculate the area of the path around the plot.

given:-

★ length of the rectangular plot=80m

★ breadth of the rectangular plot=60m

therefore area of the rectangular plot=l×b

=80×60

=4800m²

if the path is all around the rectangular plot then it's length and breadth will increase.

so length of the path=80+1.5+1.5

=80+3

=83m

breadth of the path=60+1.5+1.5

=60+3

=63m

area of the rectangular plot along with the path=l×b

=83×63

=5229m²

hence area of the path=5229-4800

=429m²
