A person standing near the edge of the top of a building throws two balls A and B. The ball A is thrown vertically upward and B is thrown vertically downward with the same speed. The ball A hits the ground with a speed V1 and the ball B hits the ground with a speed V2. We have, V1 < V2 or V1 = V2

Since, the two balls were thrown with the same velocity, but, in different directions.
A ––> Vertically Upwards
B ––> Vertically Downwards

also, we know that the Velocity of a particle moving downwards increases rapidly.
So, from the above statement we can conclude that :–
&lt;i&gt;The Velocity of an object is directly proportional to its vertical height above the ground.&lt;/i&gt;

Now,

Since the ball (B) was thrown vertically upwards due to which it will possess more height than ball (A).

So, We can conclude that ball (B) has more height than ball (A).

Also, we know that &lt;i&gt; Velocity is directly proportional to height of object &lt;/i&gt;

So,

Velocity of ball B is greater than that of ball A

=> \fbox{V1 &lt; V2}
