QUESTION :

Why should oil and fats be not released in the drain? explain.

ANSWER:

=> Oils and fats harden and block the sewage pipes. They can clog the drains.
=> In open drains, they block the pores in the soil and thus hamper the filtration by soil.
=> Moreover, It does not allow the water to flow.
=> In an open drain also, fats block porosity of soil which affects its water filtering efficiency.
=> Hence, oil and fats should not be released in the drain.
