He or she does so through Mental State Examination and Physical Examination. The former involves observation and descriptions of a patient's psychological operation at a given point in time. The focus is on appearanve, attitude, behavior, mood, speech, thought, appearance, attitude, behavior, mood, speech, thought process, content, perception and judgement. The latter involves technological methods like Computerized Tomography (CT) , Magnetic Resonance Imagine (MRI), Positron Emission Tomography (PET) all designed to observe and record the physical state and functioning of the brain.
