★Given :

  • A piece of wire is bent in the shape of a square.
  • Side of a Square = 11 cm
  • It is re-bent into a circular ring.

★To find :

  • Diameter of the ring.

★Solution :

First, we'll find the length of the wire.To do that we'll find the perimeter of the given square.

We know,

Perimeter of a square = 4 × side

Substituting values,

→ Perimeter = 4 × 11

→ P = 44 cm

Circumference of circle = 2πr.

We know,

Radius = diameter/2

∴Circumference = πD

Now the wire of same length is Bent to form circular ring.Therefore,

The perimeter of the ring would be same as that of the square.

Perimeter of circle = perimeter of square

→ πD = 44

→22/7 × D = 44

→D = 44 × 7/22

→D = 2 × 7

D = 14 cm

Hence,the diameter of the circle is 14cm.

Answer:

44=2πr

44/2×22/7 =r

r=44×7/2×22

r=7

Diameter is 7×2 =14 c.m
