A piece of wire of resistance 6 ohm is connected to a battery of 12 volt. Find the amount of current flowing through it.Now the same wire is redrawn by stretching it to double its length.Find the resistance of the new wire drawn.

I=12/6
I=2 A
now if length is doubled then resistance will also be doubled as
resistance is directly proportional to length of conductor and inversely proportional to area of cross section..
given by
p=RA/L
where p is resistivity of wire
so new resistance would be 12 ohm
