A plant which was 90 CM high broke ata a point in a storm but did not separate. Its top touched the ground at a distance of 27 CM from its base. Find the height of the point from the ground at which the plant broke

.. let upper part from point that broken is x and
then lower will 90-x
sinA= (90-x)/x
cosA= 27/x
squaring and adding equation 1 and 2
sin^2A+cos^2A={(90-x)^2/x^2}+ 27^2/x^2
1 = [{8100-180x+x^2}÷x^2]+[ {729}÷x^2]
1 = [8100+729-180x+x^2]÷x^2
x^2=8829-180x+x^2
x^2 will cancel out because both side have x^2 of same sign
then
180x=8829
x=49.05 cm
hence height from ground to broken point = 90-49.05 = 40.95 cm
