Let the length of shorter pipe be x and longer pipe be y.
So A/Q-
y=7x -------eq(1) and y-2.2=3x --------eq(2)
y-7x=0 and y-3x=2.2
After eliminating y, with the help of these equation, we get,
-4x=-2.2
x=0.55 meter
Putting it into eq(2), we get,
y-2.2=1.65
y=2.2+1.65
y=3.85 meter
So, Length of longer pipe and shorter pipe are 3.85 m and 0.55 m respectively.
