a poleis broken at a height of 12 m from the ground and its top touches the ground at a distance of 35 m from the base of the pole due to the strong winds.find the original height of the pole

solution of this question can be found using trigonometry

12m = opp side
35m = adjacent side

tan(theta)= opp side/adjacent side

theta = tan inv(opp side/adjacent side)

then sin(theta)= opp side/ hypotenuse

hypotenuse + opp side equals the original length of the pole

2nd method

assuming that the pole is making a right angeled triangle with the ground

Pythagoras theoram can be used to find the hypotenuse

then hypotenuse + opp side equals the original length of the pole

12sqare +35 sqare u will get height sare of pole then

h = 37
