A projectile is fired at an angle of 30 with the horizontal. The vertical component of its velocity is 80
ms at point of projection. Its time of flight is T. What will be the velocity of the projectile at t= 1/2
(a) 80 ms' (b) 80V3 ms (c) (80/V3) ms
(d) 40 ms?

Explanation:

T is the time of flight

therefore for time T/2 the projectile will reach at the highest point.

therefore it will have only horizontal component of velocity =80/tan30= 80√3m/s

Answer:

Explanation:

vertical component =80m/s= v sin @

angel=30=@

therefore v = 80 x2= 160 m/s

horizontal component = v cos@ = 160 x cos 30 = 80 √3 m/s

at t = 1/2

vₓ = 80√3m/s

Vy = u -gt

       =80- 5

          = 75 m/s

therefore

v= √(vₓ² + Vy²)

   = √( 19200+ 5625)

   = 80 /√3
