a projectile is fired with velocity u making a angle theta with horizontal .Show that it's path is parabolic. Also find expression for maximum height attained.

the motion of particle can be studied by resolving it's velocity U in two directions

horizontal component =U cos teta

vertical component =U sin teta

the horizontal component remains same throughout the journey as it is not affected by acceleration

whereas vertical component is affected by gravity ,so it continusly changes
