3%of 20000 + 2% of 40000
3/100*20000+2/100*40000
= 600 + 800

Answer:

Total commission - Rs 600 + Rs 800 = Rs 1,400/-

Step-by-step explanation:

House is sold for Rs 60,000

Commission for 1st 20,000 = 3%

ie 20,000 x \frac{3}{100} = 60000/100 = Rs 600

Balance amount - Rs 60,000 - Rs 20,000 = Rs 40,000

Its given that commission for Rs 40,000 is 2%

ie 40,000 x \frac{2}{100} = 80,000/100 = Rs 800

Total commission - Rs 600 + Rs 800 = Rs 1,400/-
