A purse contain rupees 450 in notes for denjomination of ₹10 and ₹ 50 if the number of 10 ₹ note is 4 times that of 50 ₹ notes find the number of notes of each denomination

Let's assume that the number of 50 ruppes denomination as x, so the number of 10 rupees denomination will be 4x as per data.

Now, x number of 50 ruppes note and 4x numbers of 10 rupees note will be 450 rupees. So,

(4x × 10) + ( x × 50) = 450

:• 40x + 50x = 450

:• 90x = 450

:• x = 5

So there is total 5 numbers of 50 ruppes denomination notes and 200 numbers of 10 rupees denomination.

Let the no of RS.50 notes = x
The no RS.10 notes = 4x

10(4x)+50(x)=450
40x+50x=450
90x=450
x=450/90
x=5

The no. of RS. 50 notes=x=5notes
The no of RS. 10 notes=4x=4×5=20notes
