Given :-

A racing car has a uniform acceleration(a) of 4 m/s².

Time(t) = 10 s

To find :-

The distance that the car will cover in 10 s.

Solution :-

METHOD-1

The initial velocity(u) = 0 m/s, as the car starts from rest.

We know,

\displaystyle{\sf{v=u+at}}

Substituting all the known values in the above equation :

v = 0 + (4*10)

v = 40 m/s

We also know :

\displaystyle{\sf{v^2-u^2=2as}}

Substituting all the known values in the above equation :

40² - 0² = 2*4*s

➠1600 = 8s

s = 200 m

METHOD-2

We know,

\displaystyle{\sf{s=ut+\frac{1}{2}at^2 }}

Substituting all the known values in the above equation :

\displaystyle{\sf{s=0*10+\frac{1}{2}*4*(10)^2 }}

➠s = 0 + 2 * 100

s = 200 m

⟿ So, the racing car covered 200 m in 10 s after start.
