AnswEr:

  • Length of the rectangle = 320 cm.

Given:

  • A rectangle has its area equal to that of a square of side 80 cm.
  • The breadth of the rectangle is 20 cm.

Need To Find:

  • The length of the rectangle = ?

ExPlanation:

  • Side of the square = 80 cm [Given]

Formula used here:

  • Area of square = Side ×Side

Putting the values according to the given formula:

Area of the square = 80 × 80

Area of the square = 6400 cm²

  • Hence, the area of the square is 6400 Cm².

  • The Breadth of the rectangle = 20 cm [Given]

Formula used here:

  • Area of the rectangle = Area of the square = 6400 cm²

Putting the values according to the given formula:

Length of the rectangle = Area/Breadth

We get:

  • Length of the rectangle = 6400/20 = 320 cm

Hence,

  • Length of the rectangle is 320 cm.

Additional Information:

What is Area?

  • The measure of the surface enclosed by a closed figure is called area.

  • Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth
  • Area of a square = Side × Side
