a rectangular acrylic sheet is 36 cm by 25cm .from it 56 circular buttons ,each of diameter 3.5cm have been cut out find the area of remaining sheet.

Given :-

  • The Length and breadth of acrylic sheet is 25 cm and 36 cm respectively.

  • Total buttons cut out from the sheet = 3.5 cm and diameter of the given sheet = 3.5cm.

Find :-

  • Find the area of the remaining sheet

Solution :-

As we know the sheet is in rectangular shape

So, it's = Length × Breadth

From given :-

  • Length = 25cm
  • Breadth = 36 cm

Now, Area of sheet = 25 × 35

Area of sheet will be 900 cm²

As we know button is in circular shape

So, Area of button = πr²

From given.

Diameter of button = 3.5 cm

Radius of 1 button = 3.5/2 = 7/4cm

Now, Area of button = 22/7 × 7/4 × 7/4

Area of button = 9.625cm²

So, Area of 56 button will be 56 × 9.625 = 539cm²

Then, to find area of remaining sheet

Simply subtracting the area of button from total area of sheet

Area of remaining sheet = Area of sheet - Area of 56 buttons

900 - 539 = 361cm²

Therefore,

The area of remaining sheet = 361cm².
