The length of the hall is 20 m and width is 16 m . The sum of the area of the floor and the flat roof is equal to the sum to the sum of area of the four walls .Find the height and volume of the hall

Length of Hall = Length of Floor =Length of roof = 20m

Width of hall = Width of floor = width of roof = 16m

Therefore Area of floor = Area of roof = 20m X 16m = 320 Sq mtr

Given Area of floor + Area of roof = Area of 4 walls

Therefore Area of 4 walls = 320 + 320 = 640 Sq Mtr -------(1)

If H = Height of wall then

Area of length side walls = HXLength= 20H

Area of Width side walls = HXWidth = 16H

Area of 4 side walls = 2 ( 20H +16H) = 72H

But as calculated in (1) Area of 4 side walls = 640 Sq mtr

Therefore 72 H = 640 or H = 640/72 = 80/9 = 8.89 mtr (Answer)
