Given:-

  • Length of rectangular lawn = 45m

  • Breadth of rectangular lawn = 32m

  • Width of the path = 3m

  • Rate of laying grass = Rs. 3.50 per m².

To Find:-

  • Cost of laying grass in the path.

Formula Used:-

  • {\boxed{\bf{\red{Area\:of\: Rectangle=Length \times Breadth}}}}

Solution:-

Firstly,

Using Formula,

\sf :\implies Area\:of\: Rectangle = Length \times Breadth

Putting Values,

\sf :\implies Area\:of\: Rectangular\:lawn= 45 \times 32

\sf :\implies Area\:of\: Rectangular\:lawn= 1,340\:m^2

After adding the path we got,

  • Length = 45 + 3 + 3 = 51m

  • Breadth = 32 + 3 + 3 = 38m

Now, the area of lawn including path:-

\sf :\implies New\:Area= 51 \times 38

\sf :\implies New\:Area= 1,938\:m^2

Area of path = New Area - Area of lawn

Area of path = 1,938 - 1,340

Area of path = 598m²

Now,

Cost of laying grass in the path = 598 × 3.5

Cost of laying grass in the path = Rs. 2,093

Hence, The Cost of laying grass in the path at the rate of Rs 3.50 per m² is Rs. 2,093.
